The above definition succinctly encapsulates the meaning of the word. However, what it hides is the fact that an entrepreneur is the lifeline of any and every national economy, without who the well-oiled business machinery of all countries – whether the United States of America or Somalia – will come to a grinding halt.
While pages and pages have been written about how to be an effective entrepreneur and accolades have been showered upon the famous ones, there is precious little mentioned about the hard graft that one has to go through and the unexpected and unanticipated challenges that come the way of an enterprising person hoping to be successful businessman starting as a lone ranger and fighting against all obstacles to building an organization and a legacy.
As an entrepreneur begins his journey, he can be besieged by a plethora of tasks that burden him and sap the spirit and fun of what had enthused his creativity to start an enterprise and see it fructify into a successful venture. The seemingly mundane issues pile up and then start blocking the entrepreneur’s vision and leave him distracted and disenchanted with the entrepreneurial journey.
